Oak Titmous on burned tree.
I shot this photo of an Oak Titmouse in the Angeles National Forest in July, 2022. This section of the forest was burned in the Bobcat Fire, 2020. The composition is a little unusual, seeing the bird mostly from behind. But the badly burned tree, combined with the orange light towards which the bird is looking, reminded me of the Pilgrim considering his path to the underworld in Dante's Inferno. It was early in the morning when I took this shot, so the titmouse is reflecting some nice light from the left side.
